The use of this plant in Indonesia has been going on for a very long time. Our rural communities since ancient times have used bamboo for various life-supporting purposes, such as making houses and various kinds of household furniture. Actually this plant can not only bring mere economic benefits, but also has great potential to be used as an environmental conservation plant. One of its advantages is as an environmental conservation plant, because of its ability to maintain aquatic ecosystems. The root system is very close, its roots spread in all directions both sideways and inwards. Soils overgrown with bamboo clumps are usually very stable and not prone to erosion. Therefore, water is also easier to absorb into the soil overgrown with these plants.

Several types bamboo which is already very rare is the Spotted Bamboo, Wulung, Manggong, Embong, and Petung. Mass cultivation efforts need to be done, one of them is to make it as an environmental conservation plant, especially to supplement groundwater reserves. This plant is resistant to wind because its stems are strong and flexible, so it is very suitable as a green plant, especially in the watershed (THE). Through planting bamboo as a means of reforestation, conservation activities can go hand in hand with cultivation efforts to prevent the scarcity of bamboo species in nature.
